Attention Please: We are now arriving at The Real World International Airport - Welcome to The Real World

Well, once again, I have failed my loyal readers in keeping up with this blog. I continue to strive for blog excellence…stick with me. We have sure had a lot going on lately. Sometimes, I feel loonier than a crap house rat…

Mark started a new job at the beginning of April. He left New Horizons, where he was a Network Administrator, and went to work for Backbone Networks, which is a network consulting company. The greatest thing about his job is that his boss is a very faithful Christian. He is a very honorable man and Mark has really enjoyed working for him. This man and his wife give something like 60% of their profits from this company to missions – that should tell you something right there. It has been a tough transition for Mark, since the structure of his working environment is completely different from what he’s used to, but God is revealing himself slowly and Mark has been so patient in hanging in there. I am so proud of Mark for sticking it out, because the change was very tough for him, and quitting seemed ideal so many times. It’s getting better and better and we both know that this is where God wants him.

As most of you have heard by now, MY STINKIN’ CD IS FINISHED!!! Woohoo!!! It took so much longer than I had originally planned. Good night – I thought it would never get done, but alas, it is, and I am even selling them online at my website, http://www.princessrhonda.com/ . If you haven’t purchased yours yet, you better hop to it. They’re flying off the shelf like hotcakes…I started out with 1,000 and I only have about 900 or so left…Get ‘em while they’re hot. Yep. Sizzlin’ hot.

Mark and I close on our new house this Thursday. I can’t believe we’re finally homeowners. It’s been a bit overwhelming at times, but still very exciting. My all time favorite part of the whole process was when I got to sit down with the lender last Friday on my afternoon off and explain all the bad stuff on my credit report. I am telling you, THAT was fun. It probably wouldn’t be quite as fun for someone who didn’t go through the “young and stupid” phase, but I fortunately did, so it was a blast. So much fun, it was, that I just may refer to it again in future blogs. Keep your eyes peeled for that one.

And what’s even better news than the house is that my car is about to die. Now, how’s THAT for timing? How does it always happen that way? You go and commit to a big purchase and then something expensive and necessary breaks. The booger in that nose is that I think my car was trying to tell us something was wrong several months ago, but we didn’t get the message. On my way home from work one day, my battery light came on. I got home later that night and my check engine light came on too. SO, we went and had the battery tested. It said it was dead, so we bought the expensive one since that was the problem. Oh wait, silly us. It wasn’t the problem. We put it in and the lights stayed on, so we went and purchased a new alternator since that obviously had to be the problem…no, not so much. Lights are still on. We couldn’t figure it out so we just kept driving it. Well, my car started overheating last week. We figured out that coolant was leaking into the engine. So, we did what any poor person would do, we went and bought a bottle of Bar’s Leak and poured it in to plug up those holes. I guess it worked, except it missed a hole and now it’s leaking out of the car too. Good stuff.

Mark and I are doing great! Marriage is more work than I could have imagined and I have learned that I'm a lot more selfish than I could have imagined. To all of you who knew this a long time ago, thanks for giving me the heads up. Geez o pete. What a stinky thing to learn about yourself. Mark and I are both really set in our ways, but I love being married to him and things are awesome and getting awesomer everyday.

Norman is also doing great. He's our little nightmare - I'm amazed that he was so sick at one time, because you would never know it now. The only time he throws up now is when he has chewed up and eaten too much of our shoe linings or tags off our clothes or toilet paper...a little puppy's tummy can only handle so much of that stuff at one time. We thought we might breed him once before getting him fixed, but have decided against that. We are going to have to get the little horn dog fixed, as he humps anything he can get his little paws on.

God bless you all. I love you and miss you all so much (unless you are here in Michigan, and then I don’t miss you, but I do love you.) Take care of yourselves…keep in touch.

Hugs and Misses….
